History
Isamu Hosoi was registered as a Patent Attorney in the Japanese Patent
Office (JPO) in 1973, and established the Hosoi Patent Firm in Tokyo in
1975. In 1996, Hosoi joined forces with Japanese patent attorney Mr. Osamu
Shimizu to form the firm Shimizu & Hosoi. In September 2007, Hosoi
reorganized the firm as (in English) HOSOI & ASSOCIATES. “Ars” is the Latin
for “art” in Ars Kokusai Tokkyo Jimusho (“Ars International Intellectual
Property”), the Japanese name of the firm since September 2007.
